Hitler's choises were fogged by the supposed superiority of the Arian and degenarate races like the Jews and the Slaves. Still the Ukrain welcomed the Nazis as liberators, so were the Cozacs. Rommel expected the Arabs to join the side of Germany against colonial Britain. His battleplan forsaw the fall of Jerusalem.
Hitler alienated the Slaves and turned them into bitter enemies. The Africa-corps was stopped by Commonwealth Forces at El Alamein.
After the war, those Russians who joined the SS and were taken prisoner by the Allies, were handed over to Stalin.
